the comeback - recover
June 07, 2020 | Matt Ware
Everybody loves a good comeback story, and one of the greatest of all time is David at Ziklag. In one day, he lost it all—his family, his home and his possessions. It was the greatest setback he had ever experienced. But by applying David’s response to our own situation, we can see how to turn the setback into THE COMEBACK!
Step 8: Recover
Hebrews 13:7 (ESV) Remember your leaders … consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
1 Samuel 30:18-19 (NKJV) So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. 19 And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.
1. More
1 Samuel 30:20 (ESV) David also captured all the flocks and herds, and the people drove the livestock before him, and said, “This is David’s spoil.”
1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
2. Forward
Haggai 2:9 (KJV) ‘The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former,’ saith the Lord of hosts.
Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV) Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
