Everybody loves a good comeback story, and one of the greatest of all time is David at Ziklag. In one day, he lost it all—his family, his home and his possessions. It was the greatest setback he had ever experienced. But by applying David’s response to our own situation, we can see how to turn the setback into THE COMEBACK!

Step 4: Renew

1 Samuel 30:8 (NKJV) So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue …”

1 Samuel 30:8 (NKJV) “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish.

1. Clarity

John 8:14 (ESV) I know where I came from and where I am going

2. Confidence

1 Samuel 30:9a (NKJV) So David set out, and the six hundred men who were with him …

Psalm 56:9 (ESV) This I know, that God is for me.

3. Courage

1 Samuel 30:9-10 (NKJV) So David set out, and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed. 10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men. Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.
