purpose - press in to your purpose
January 03, 2021 | Matt Ware
This series will help you rediscover and reengage in the PURPOSE God has laid out specifically for you. 2020 knocked many off course, and uncertainty bred insecurity. People began to drift—losing their way because they lost their why. But we believe “God has a plan and you have a purpose!”
Press in to Your Purpose
1. Prepared Purpose
Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV) For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
2. Promised Purpose
Jeremiah 29:10-11, 14 (ESV) I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope… I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
Romans 11:29 (ESV) the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
3. Performed Purpose
Jeremiah 1:12 (ESV) I am watching over my word to perform it.
Psalm 138:8 (ESV) The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.
Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV) For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
