We live in a world today that is easily TRIGGERED. And while Jesus warned us that in this life we would get TRIGGERED and offenses would come, you don’t have to stay in that place. In the TRIGGERED series, you’ll learn how to overcome offense, walk in forgiveness, and live light and free from the trap of offense.

The L#@%*& Word

Luke 17:1 (NKJV) It is impossible that no offenses should come.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Proverbs 4:21 (NIV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 27:19 (NIV) As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.

The L#@%*& Word

Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

1. When you question their decisions.

2. When you put yourself in an equal position.

3. When everything that he does you take it personally.

Colossians 3:22b (NET) …obey your earthly, masters in every respect, not only when they are watching – like those who are strictly people-pleasers – but with a sincere heart, fearing the Lord.

Romans 13:1b (ESV) For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Phillipians 2:5-8 (ASV) Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

James 4:6 (ESV) “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

1. Vengeance is not Yours.

2. Vengeance shows how offended you are.

3. Vengeance never solves the ISSUE.

Romans 12:19 (ESV) Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

1 Samuel 24:6 (ESV) The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the Lord’s anointed, to put out my hand against him, seeing he is the Lord’s anointed
